Scholarship Mom Tip #175: Moms Play a Huge Role in the Scholarship Process

Happy Mother’s Day to all the hardworking moms out there who are doing whatever they can to help their students win college scholarship money! One of the greatest gifts that we can give to our children is teaching them the value of becoming and remaining debt-free. Moms can play a huge role in the college scholarship process and here are just a few examples of what they can do to help their students win money for school.

  • Find Scholarships – Mom find the scholarships, student writes the essays
  • Due Date Reminders – Mom keeps careful track of deadlines and sends gentle reminders to student as dates approach
  • Proofread Essays – Mom reads each essay for content, completeness, typos, and grammar
  • Encouragement – Mom is a positive cheerleader in the scholarship process, constantly reminding her student the importance of applying and remaining upbeat and positive when motivation wanes.

Teamwork makes the scholarship dream work! Your student may not thank you right away, but they will when scholarships are won and a stronger bond is formed as a result of working together.
