Plan Your College Visit to Avoid Surprises

Plan your college visit - avoid nasty surprises

Don’t Waste a Trip. Plan your college visit!

If you’re going to take the time to make a college visit, information and careful planning are essential to protecting your investment of time (and money).

Keep in mind that some colleges do close for a day, a week, or more — and often these closures fall right when you happen to have time off to visit — like major holidays, for example.

Do yourself a favor and plan your college visit well in advance. Check the college’s web site, register if they require it, and make sure there’s room at the inn, if an overnight stay is needed. Find a hotel near campus.

Visiting colleges is the best way to see the institution beyond what they publish online and in their brochures, and is really the only way to get a feel for the campus environment, culture, and whether it will be a good fit.
