Declare a Major or Apply Undecided?

Should you apply undecided or declare a major when applying to college? What if you don’t know what you want to major in? You’ll definitely want to take time to visit campus and explore as many options as possible.

Deciding whether to apply undecided is an important consideration, and the right answer for one college may be the wrong one for another! In general, if you truly are undecided, it is best to apply undecided. However, it is always a good idea to ask the admissions representative for the college(s) to which you are applying.

Make the most of any campus visit and explore the many college majors you can choose. Ask questions about program requirements, internships, and applying undecided. It’s okay to take time during your first year to decide on the major that’s right for you.
