Do Canadian students seek admission at American colleges? How do they go about doing that? What specifically do they need to transition to the United States?
This week’s #CampusChat guest, Jenika Heim. is the EducationUSA Officer in Canada, assisting Canadian students in finding opportunities at U.S. educational institutions. Jenika is co-located at the Foundation for Educational Exchange between Canada and the United States of America (Fulbright Canada) and the US Embassy in Canada. Her responsibilities include disseminating information about study opportunities in the United States through social media tools and presentations at schools and education fairs.
She advises students and serves as a key contact for American institutions seeking to recruit students in Canada. Jenika is a Northern California native with a unique and varied background in academia. She received her BA from University of California, Davis in History and Communications with a Minor in Social and Ethnic Relations, and her Master’s from San Diego State University in Women’s Studies. Before coming to Fulbright, she spent the last eight years working in universities, community colleges, and test preparation.
